- Mission objectives: David and Elisabet were sent in 2004 as home-missionaries to Spain, their own country. The Barcelos are native Spaniards and they want to reach with the Gospel both the Spanish and Catalan speaking communities in the big Barcelona metropolitan area, an area of about 3 million people. Their first ministry goal is to establish a new local church in the Barcelona/Sant Andreu neighborhood, of 50,000 people, that is holding the Doctrines of Grace and committed to personal evangelism. This church – the Iglesia Evangélica de la Gracia, www.porGracia.es – is a church plant of the Evangelical Church of Vilassar de Mar. The Barcelos are also involved in practicing and promoting biblical counseling in Spain by means of an ongoing counseling ministry under their church and using different training seminars in various local churches.
